Not Sold on a Snowy Cold Christmas? Try These Beaches for a Warmer Holiday Experience

Not everybody loves a cold and snowy Christmas. You can still get into the holiday spirit while splashing in the waves at a beach destination. Fortunately, there is a host of amazing beach destinations that remain warm year-round, making them the perfect spot for a Christmas celebration. Here are three beach spots that deliver a warm and festive Christmas experience.

The Maldives

The white sandy beaches and sparkling turquoise waters of the Maldives make for the perfect backdrop for your holiday celebration. Warm and dry weather toward the end of December makes the Maldives a particularly attractive option during this month. Because the humidity is at its lowest during December, many people flock to the islands for the Christmas holiday. Many of the popular resorts will host a gala dinner on Christmas Eve. The area is all aglow in lights, creating a festive atmosphere for the holiday celebration. The Maldives is an ideal destination if you are looking to escape the cold but still retain the magic of Christmas.

Los Cabos

Baja California is an exceptional place to spend the Christmas holiday. While Cabo weather is pretty consistent throughout the year, the best time to visit Cabo is during late winter and early spring, as that is the driest and the warmest portion of the year. Gaze at the famous El Arco as you sip your festive chilled eggnog on the beach. Traveling to Los Cabos over Christmas also puts you in the area during the beginning of whale watching season. Or simply enjoy splashing around in the sun and the surf of this tranquil oasis.

Maui

You will be saying “Mele Kalikimaka” in no time at all once you set foot in this island paradise. A variety of holiday festivals and special events make visiting Maui especially festive. While the north side of the island may experience rainfall during this time of year, the resort areas on the south and west sides generally remain dry. Be sure to check out the lighting of the famous banyan tree in Lahaina. There are also a variety of places throughout the island to meet Santa if you are traveling with little ones in tow.

Regardless of what beach destination you choose, you are sure to enjoy spending time with loved ones as you soak up the sun. It’s sure to be a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The only problem will be wanting to return every year at Christmas!
